Silent Impact Ministry for the Deaf was established for the purpose to encourage and strengthen Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people in their faith and to provide opportunities to learn how to become leaders while preaching the Gospel of salvation to those who are Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, and Hearing.
Our Mission is to make more and better followers of Jesus Christ. The mission shall include providing fellowship, helping people, preaching, teaching, and evangelizing to Christians and non-Christians seeking.
In 2007, Deaf Young Adults for Christ (DYAC) was established to help young adults learn to run a non-profit organization, develop leadership skills for the future, and strengthen their faith while ministering to others. Seventeen years later, DYAC transformed into SIMD, removing age limits, adding more responsibilities and roles, and encouraging youth participation in committee meetings.
We welcome everyone to come and be a part of our community. Whether you are a long-time believer or just curious about Silent Impact Ministry for the Deaf, we would love to have you join us. We offer a variety of programs and events for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Farrah Gooding-Santiago was born deaf into a 2nd generation Adventist family in the Caribbean. She and her parents moved to Canada for education. Eventually, thru John Blake, she was connected to other deaf Adventists across North America, not feeling like the only Adventist in her world. Realizing the importance of outreaching and networking with other families that have deaf/HofH children, she joined DYAC as a Vice-President and a secretary for four years before the changes to SIMD.
